In collaboration with AWM Greentech, GoodWe supported Six Star Plus in donating the latest solar system to the Victorian Homeless Fund (VHF). This effort is part of a broader initiative to provide energy-efficient housing for women and children affected by homelessness due to domestic violence. Six Star Plus, a leading solar and hot water retailer, facilitated the installation of the system at one of VHF’s housing projects in Melbourne, ensuring that the home benefits from sustainable energy solutions and long-term cost savings for its residents.
The Victorian Homeless Fund, chaired by Colleen May, is a volunteer-driven organisation that works in collaboration with the Housing Industry Association (HIA) and various donors to build homes for families in need. “We rely on the generosity of companies within the housing industry to supply the materials and services required for these homes,” said Colleen May. “Partnerships like the one with GoodWe help us create safe, energy-efficient spaces for families who have experienced severe hardship.”
Six Star Plus has been a key partner of the VHF for over five years, regularly donating solar and hot water systems to new builds. Lauren, a representative from Six Star Plus, commented,
“We are passionate about giving back to the community, and this project is a perfect example of how we can help reduce energy costs for vulnerable families. The system we installed at this house includes six Longi solar panels and a 2-kilowatt GoodWe inverter, designed to lower electricity bills while contributing to a cleaner, greener future.”
The solar inverter donated by GoodWe will play a crucial role in minimising energy costs for the homeowners, ensuring that the house not only provides a safe environment but also promotes sustainability. This initiative aligns with GoodWe’s commitment to renewable energy solutions that empower communities and reduce environmental impact.
The Victorian Homeless Fund’s approach involves partnering with registered housing organisations, such as the Women’s Property Initiative, which provides ongoing support to families once they move into their new homes. “This project is about more than just providing a roof over someone’s head. It’s about offering stability, dignity, and a chance for a brighter future,” added Colleen May.
